Checkpoint 303 from Palestine, Tunisia and France will perform a singing and musical night at Jesuits Cultural Center Alexandria, April 27.
Checkpoint 303 is an avant-garde activist sound art project that creates experimental electronic music to raise awareness about the struggle of civil society in the Middle East and throughout the Arab world for freedom, peace and justice. Checkpoint 303 combines field recordings performed in Palestine, Tunisia, Syria and Egypt with electronic beats, cinematic FX, oud and soothing oriental tunes.
The Checkpoint 303 collective was launched in 2004 by Tunisian SC MoCha with Palestinian SC Yosh and was inspired by the name of a military Checkpoint that separates Bethlehem from Jerusalem, which known as Checkpoint 300.
Checkpoint 303 has performed shows is Tunisia, Palestine, Europe, Australia, USA, Canada, Japan, Chile, etc. Checkpoint 303 was also invited by Massive Attack as supporting DJ set for several shows in the UK and France.
