"Elmaslaha" is an Egyptian thriller movie, its story is about a drug dealing and the fight between the narcotics mafia and the police where a very strict police officer at work and very romantic person at home confronts a very dangerous drug dealer "Salem " face to face.
Since the announcement of the two very famous action movie actor union in one (Ahmed Elsakka and Ahmed Ezz) there was great expectations and anticipation for such merger . And though the known story for the movie added to it hard criticism to the interior security in the last few years specially in the time of the 25th revolution yet we wished to see a new vision and processing in the movie. All the work items were promising and of high expectation of something extraordinary. The author Wael Abdallah is well known of interesting treatments and dramatic complex in his movies. The director Sandra Nashaat tends in her movies to the shots techniques and the American directing with the presence of the proper dose of action in addition to the high acting energetic level in both actors Ezz and Elsakka.
The story about the eternal fight between the drug dealers and the interior security force the evolved to turn to a personal vendetta between the two poles away from the law and the country. As a matter of fact , the story does not make any side prettier than the other. On the contrary; the character models presented all follow and confirms the human weakness . There isn't one character in the movie that was perfect or had the psychological balance which is the different treatments in the movie in showing the good and the bad side by side in the same character. As the police officer didn't start working hard and honest except after the mission took a personal turn when he caused by mistake in killing one of his fellow workers.
As for the directing as we are used to from Sandra Nashaat special directing which basically depends on the american shots that accordingly helps in the directing of the action scenes including focusing on every single detail. They used steady cam when showing the conflict between the police officer and his wife without using high audio level in the dialoge as the picture, decoration, lighting expressed very well the life and the feelings of the heroes. The picture details came out very convenient to the reality of the story and focus on the acting energy and the main story.
The sound effects played also a very important role where the composer Amr Ismael succeeded in picking the right music for the action where the enjoying of the picture and following the events was smooth.
And despite the people direction now is towards politics and elections yet the existence of good art and work the deserves to be seen domains itself.
